We know you have questions about our sessions at Captivate Portraits. Here are a few frequently asked questions that we've had. Please let us know if there's something else you'd like to know about. Thanks!

How long does a session last?

Typically a newborn session will last anywhere from 2-3 hours. We are on baby's schedule and will stop whenever needed.

A milestone/kid session usually lasts 30-40 minutes. We will get plenty of variety with poses and backgrounds in that time, but we've found out that that's typically how long little ones attention spans will last at the 3 month- 4 year old range.

What should I bring?

Don't worry about bringing anything to a newborn session- we've got all kinds of props, hats, headbands & buckets. We'll take care of all of that!

For a milestone/kid session we recommend bringing 1-2 outfits.

When should I book my newborn appointment?

Let us know your due date as soon as you can. We pencil it in our calendar and then wait for baby's arrival. Once baby is born, give us a call- we like to schedule baby within the first 14 days of their birth date.

How many outfits should I bring?

Our session fee is based on time, rather than clothing changes, so we don't limit you on clothing changes! If in doubt, bring it along. It's easier to bring a shirt and not use it, rather than get here and wish you had brought it.

Do you offer digital files?

Yes, our packages come with digital files and print options.

How long does it take to get our pictures back?

In approximately 14 business days, your proof book will be ready. After you make your choices on what you would like to order call us to make an ordering appointment, your finished order should arrive within 4-5 weeks.

Do you offer grad cards?

Yes. We custom design each card so they are personalized to you. We offer a one-sided 5x7 or a two-sided 5x7. We also offer a wallet sized card that is great for handing out to classmates.
